5.7 Liter into a 240sx fastback

I've circled the world of AF and ended back at a chevy forum. I bought an Iroc-Z a little over 2 months ago, while fixing it up, I decided I would transfer the 305 tpi into my 1992 Nissan Fastback. After much deliberation, and talking to myself, I'm looking to use an LS1 and focus on the nissan, creating a country-hybrid supercar. My question is simple and this is my First post in the corvette forum, will a car that weighs 400 lbs less than the C5 be faster? What factors are there?

This is the project(for now my daily driver to college)

Thanks in advance

Re: 5.7 Liter into a 240sx fastback

I'm going to take a guess, either you don't like me..or no one cares, could be both...

I'm doing it anyway and ya can't stop me XD...only fate can.

I'm serious though, and I was wrong, it's even lighter than that compared to a C5. I like the corvette LS1(350hp) but even with an f-body engine(325hp), the 240 should fly. I'm just wondering by how much more. Since it's 2700lbs, will it take less torque to move? while I get better mileage if I cover more ground? Base all of your answers on the fact that the engine is installed perfectly safe and maintained, adding some new parts to make the body stronger all around and better brakes to compensate for the addition of speed.

Will the 240 with an LS1 be faster? If you know nothing about nissans, make it completely hypothetical. Thanks in advance.

It could, but theres only one way to find out. Once you get it all done, if you do, take it to the track, and let us know what happens. It would be cool if you could record a video of that run and post it here so that we can see it! Good Luck Man!

(Warning, this post is unrated for profanity)

Sadly you're right, there is only one way to find out, ...SO BE IT!!!

I get the idea, you guys don't like 'rumors' you like the real deal. So if I say I'll do something, it doesn't mean much until I actually do this. Alright then

Right back where I started. you guys should pick it up, the camaro forum is lightyears ahead of you with postwhores. I guess vettes are more exquisite. Infact if I shouldn't say the word whore, I apologize........alright back to post whoring, thanks for the luck! I really appreciate it
