I am interested in buying a pre owned malibu and I was wondering is this a good car to get or are there any signs to look for when buying a used malibu in general that would pose to be a problem in the future. I am a female but I know the basics about cars.So anything would be useful.

I am new too, I'm also getting a Malibu really soon, its a 2000. I'm getting it from family for $3000. Probably half of what I would have to pay. My best bet is to use Kbb.com, look at prices, etc.

Avoid this car. It's too expensive to repair off warranty, and the car is problematic in many areas. This is why the dealers are selling their pre-owned Malibus for peanuts.

Feel free to review the hundreds of posts in theis forum.
