Unhappy 84 celica will not start

I have an 84 celica that was sitting up for nine years with gas still in the tank. I put an aftermarket external msd fuel pump on the car, fixed all leaks in the fuel system. which is letting me know gas is getting up to the fuel rail for the injectors, but i am not getting anything on the sparkplugs. is there something that should have been done to override a sensor or something to turn on the injectors? I am completely at a loss for this one.

Re: 84 celica will not start

It could be something as simple as a fuse. Check you're ignition fuse because that's what happened to me before. Like....it didn't seem like the fuel was going anywhere so I checked all my fuses.

Re: 84 celica will not start

you will have to pull the injector rail, if they look burnt, get out the credit card or hit the junk yard

Re: 84 celica will not start

ok,first thing is first, gas has a tendency to bcome unflamable after a certain amount of time, and nine years?change the gas, drain it, poor in STP fuel injector cleaner, poor in a full tank of fresh gas, and it should start, it could be that the gas is so old it doesnt burn

Re: 84 celica will not start

if you didn't drain the tank you'll have to replace everything all over again, or atleast the filter, when you drain it I would suggest blowing out all of your fuel lines to the fuel filter

tank was drained, new filter, fuel getting to the injector rail, nothing pass the rail though. I am not getting any spray what so ever on the plugs.
