ravin muffler

Just got a z33 installed on my 99 Blazer LT a few hours ago at a local midas. Only one out of the 7 or so mida's here had ravins anymore. Was kinda of worried that the z33 might be to loud but it sounds really good and not near as loud as i thought it would be. Paid 67$ for the muffler and installation! Guess the mechanic was in a good mood today. Gona try and put some sound clips up tomorow for yall to hear.

You are ballsy going for the loudest one. Mine is the Z55 and is quite loud at times.

Re: ravin muffler

I was quote $250 for the Z55 on mine cause it was a custom install. I guess custom is considered hanging the muffler and installing a straight filler piece. I called him a dumb ass and hung up.

Go call. Muffler shops lately are getting as bad as used car dealerships.

Screw the customer for as much as possible.

Re: ravin muffler

hey guys, yesterday (halloween I got mine too) the installer and manager both said that Vortex, Ravin's replacement is no-where near as good as Ravin. This is a s-10 pu 2.2l 4 cyl..... don't expect much rumble.

It may just be the engine "gargeling" as the rpms lower. I have a 40 serires flow master and it kinda of sounds the same way as his. I wish i would of found this forum before i went w/ flowmaster, i should have done homework on this raven i keep hearing about

that may be his opinion..... When i had my ravin installed, the guys that work there said that they do NOT like FM or vortex as much as ravin.

Re: ravin muffler

I would honestly go for the z55 over the z33.

55 series is much less raspier and has a good bark on acceleration.
