Great deal on tires for 2001 Legacy or not?

Subaru car manual points out that one shouldn't downgrade their tires when replacing them re. AWD. I can replace my P195/60 R15 87H tires with P195/60 R15 87T which is a slightly lower speed rating.

Think it'll effect the AWD traction sensing or overall car handling- my top speed here in Canada is like...120km an hour ever...

I would keep them the same as the stock ones, personally.

Something you should always do though is replace all 4 tires at the same time, it can effect the AWD if you only replace the most worn ones, as the tires will be offering different levels of grip.
This is why rotating your tires is important.

Parts guy at local Subaru dealer says same thing but he said one can probably get away with a slightly lower speed rated tire. "Most people won't notice the subtle difference in handling".

Thanks freakray

It will be fine. I went from 195/65 r15 to 205/50 r16s with a higher speed rating. It doeesn't really matter. I just depends how fast you want to go. My car has almost 200000 on it with no drivetrain problems whatsoever.

Good to hear. I've went ahead with the slightly lower speed rated tires.
Thanks
