How much can I get?

Hey guys, I am getting married in the Spring and need to sell off the VR4. I was trying in the summer with no luck, I guess the price was just too high. I still owe like over 14k (Canadian funds), but I know I am going to take a rather large loss. It's a '93 with 160k on it, pretty high, but the car looks great. I am going to tune it up with new platinum plugs and stuff, it should be running great other than second gear grinding. It's had new wires, water pump, timing belt, thermostat, and some other miscellaneous stuff. I did put a new 2nd gear blocking ring in but it did not fix the grind. The interior is in great shape and the car is still quite fast. Just looking for some thoughts on how much I can get for it. If I can get a minimum of 8k CAN., I will let it go. Thoughts?

160K and a grinding second gear..... 8K Canadian might be a bit tough to pull in. But, it is an even more rare car in the Great White North so you do have that going in your favor. Have you done some comparisons at kbb.com or NADA?

A word of caution: Do not put platinum plugs in. Turbo engines eat them like candy. Go with iridium or stock NGK plugs.

um, stock ngk plugs are plats. they last 60k miles. coppers last 30k. plats are just fine.

I guess it is different from turbo eclipse's. I don't see how your cars can do well with platinum plugs, while a turbo eclipse will misfire and run like garbage, no matter the gap. Sorry for the mis-info. then.

I have the Bosch plat plugs and am waiting for the intake gasket to come in. So, does anyone else think 8k CAN is too much? I'm thinking of listing it around the Halifax area, lots of potential buyers. We'll see what happens.

Re: How much can I get?

Well try listing it and see how it goes. If no luck, then slowly lower it. And congrats on the engagement.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
