New Here and have a problem

Hello Everyone. I am new here and have a need. I own a 91 Ford Econoline a club wagon E 350 and I am trying to install a aftermarket radio CD player a Panasonic and my original unit was a Ford AM FM cassete and has a amp in the dahs and I followed the installation but my trucks amp will not work with the panasonic and it seems to be controled by a Orange w blue striped wire that must be some sort of Milli amp connection. I get no sound response and if I put my original radio back in the amp works fine and the only difference is that wired in the power connection block. Does anyone have any experience with this tyoe of modification or can share a wiring schematic for that van with me. I worked for Ford for 15 years and now am retired and it has been eight long years and just cannot recollect ever dealing with this before.

Re: New Here and have a problem

for most aftermarket head units, its easiest to buy either a stock amp integration harness or an amp bypass harness.

my 96 explorer required one of the two and i went with the amp bypass.. figuring that i woudl spereately amp the speakers if need be (the integration kit was $50 more).

just hope your amp if truly in the dash... thatll make it easier on you.. mine was in a rear panel which proved to be impossible tyo get at.. 10 attempts, a bloody arm, and 3 friends later, i managed to get the bypass harness back to the amp. be happy if your amp is under the dash.
