'03 Sierra 4x4 Problem

Hello, i own an 03 sierra 1500 4x4. with the locking rear axle. recently while backing up with my 4x4 engaged, the truck was bouncing/lurching and the right rear wheel was spinning. this can happen off road and on dry pavement. when you let off the gas pedal it feels as if the brakes are stuck on and it will literally stop instead of keep rolling. this problem is especially noticable when you turn while moving backwards. it is most noticable in 4-high. the transmission has no problems in 2 wheel. and has no problems shifting into and out of 4x4. anyone with ideas?
