1994 2.2 4cyl. oil leak
My 1994 Toyota Camry 2.2 4 cyl. has an oil leak. It appears to be coming from the firewall side of the motor very near the top of the motor on the same side as the passenger side front tire. I have tried jacking the car up and looking, but still can't tell and looking down from the top I can't see where its leaking from there either. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks..

Re: 1994 2.2 4cyl.
It's probably your head cover gasket. Try torquing the bolts to 17 ft-lbs and see if that stops the leak. Sometimes they work loose enough to allow some seepage. If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to replace the gasket.

Yes - Toyota calls it a head cover gasket.

jburgess55 p.s. It was the Coolant sensor that was making my sons car idle weird and stumble. I put a new one on it and the car is running like a dream againand haven't had anymore problems like that in a month or so. Now if this will just stop the oil leak.....:>))))) |
