'95 Golf III Oil in Air Filter??

I am new to this forum, so hello everybody. I have a quick question.. And I hope it will be a quick answer. I have getting oil in my air filter, and to add to it my golf has been driving like crap (probably mostly due to the oil in the air filter). I own a 1995 2.0L 4-cylinder Golf III. I have been looking around online, and found information about a PCV Valve that could be the culprit. So I recently went down to my nearest Napa Autoparts store to buy a PCV valve, and they told me that Golfs dont have a PCV Valve. I know golfs do indeed have a PCV valve, because I have seen other people get information about it. My main question right now is what does my PCV Valve look like, does it have a different name, and is there any other reasons why I might be getting oil in my air filter? My vehicle does not smoke either. I hope somebody can help me, it would be greatly appriciated.
