2002 galant keyless entry problem

just bought a 2002 galant.
Keyless entry is a no workie.
Replaced battries on remote .. no smiles still.
Dealer wants $85 to diagnose whats wrong .. and $400 for inner keyless module if it is bad.
any insights on what I could do?

You may want to read up on how to reprogram yourself and yeah, make sure u have right remote for vehicle before spending 400+
