Re: drunk drivers (check this out!)

The door will probably be a couple of hundred at a junk yard. You might get lucky and find a red one that can be a direct replacement. The expensive part will likely be repainting the door and the rear quarter panel. If you can live with the quarterpanel damage, it probably won't be too bad. You should be ok based on what your car is worth.

Insurance isn't picking it up? Or are you trying not to file a claim? Did they get the drunk and does he have insurance?

when insurance guy comes to check it tell him to give you a check and just have a shop fix the rear panel only then go get a new door at a yard, free money, then sue the driver $$$$$$$$$$

It could of been worse, you could be dead right now. I rolled my 97 cavy comin home from the club about two years ago; hit a light pole and got a restitution fine in the mail for $3000.00 from the county (i'm still payin that off). Totalled my car $3000.00 payed $1000.00 to get my license back, and payed $3000.00 to buy a new Z-24. That was a $10,000.00 dollar night that night, and I learned my lesson.

A new door would be less than a hundred bucks at a junkyard I'm sure.

well the local chevy dealership quoted me $1800, and an indeptendant body shop (with a very good reputation) quoted me $2300, which is awesome since the insurance company says my car is worth $4100, so its definetely not totalled, the chevy dealership calculated with just fixing the rear quarter panel, the independant shop quoted with replacing the entire panel,

also, my insurance wont pay for it cuz it wasnt my fault (and i dont have full coverage), i had to call the other guys insurance and as far as i know he has valid insurance, they said he hasnt called in the claim yet and i told them he might still be in jail, right when i said why you could tell the tone in the guys voice changed, it was kinda funny

also, im not out for free money here, and i have no plans on fixing any of this by myself, im just hoping for a nice rental car (ya know, so i can beat the living shit out of it)

Re: drunk drivers (check this out!)

when the adjuster comes say nothing about haveing just the one part fixed, then wait for the check or find the most expensive shop in town and get a qutoe for the whole repair and show it to the adjuster and be like "i want my money biatch!"
