malfunction in vss 1990

hello

i have a code 24 ,..the vss (vehicle speed sensor) fault.. so the speedmeter dont work.. this problem can light up a check engine ??
because only when i accelerate light on!..
and my truck is rough sometimes...

the speedsensor is 6 months old...

I would replace the VSS again and if it doesn't change, look for a short. Yes, a bad vss can set the SES light

but this can cause run rough ???
because when i accelerate to the top the "check engine" comes on..

Considering it's all tied togetrher and the ECM relies on speed as one of it's variable to tune the engine while running I would check it..
