2000 avalon xls 6cd changer stuck

Any of you toyo gurus out there know how to fix this? I tried some of the techniques in other post but failed miserably. I tried the undo battery thing too.. and removing fuse.
The "cd image" keeps on flashing. is it stuck or what? Is there any cure or hope? thanks all in advance.

Re: 2000 avalon xls 6cd changer stuck

Have you made any modifications to your system..speakers,amps etc?
Do you have CD's installed?
Can you select them?
Do they play?
Are they just not ejecting?
Any other radio problems?
Do you know how to run the diagnosis function?

Everything STOCK. Just one day it stop playing.. and the disk won't eject.. i'm assuming somehow it's warp and got caught on something. Although.. one time when the battery was bad.. it starting ejecting all the disk out.. so i tried to disconnect batter/ and or fuse to get same effect.. but no good response. the cd just say full and the icon flashes with no other functions. Is there a manual eject button somewhere without having to tear up the dash? How do i run diagnosis..

cd changer dumbfounded!!
thanks for responding.. CSAXON!!!

Re: 2000 avalon xls 6cd changer stuck

The FLASHING CD IMAGE indicates that it's searching.

Can I ask the obvious? IS THERE A CD IN THE TRAY? Have you tried to load one?

Have you pressed the LOAD button? Hold it for 1 minute and see what happens.
Press the EJECT button and hold for 1 minute also and see what happens.

There is a protective circuit if the cabin temp gets too hot or if there's a rapid temperature change or if condensation forms due to temperature changes.

There are about 6 error messages. They will display as WAIT, ERR 1 through 4, and I think that last is OPEN.
A flashing cd image is not an error. It means it's searching.

Does the radio function and sound normal?
If all else has failed then start here.
CHECK THIS FIRST!
Basic cd diagnostic questions.
1. Does the auto search button of the radio operate normally? NO check radio #1 fuse. YES check power supplied to +B terminal of CD player.

Diagnostic function.
Turn radio off.
ACC on (key position)
Press and hold 1 and 6 preset switches while pushing the "cd" button 3 times.

I just realized there's over 20 pages of diagnostic info and charts.
Try this first step and tell me what code numbers are displayed. The first should be 1-190.

If you get the 1-190, then press the #1 preset button and it will start the system checks.
It may take about 1 minute to get info.

Using the "TUNE DISC" button you can scroll up and down to see the various codes.

You'll need pencil and paper to record several numbers as it checks the radio/cd and other components.

I forgot to mention that you'll get up to 6 codes per screen that you access with the "tune disc button.

There are some cds in there.. think it might be warm and cause it to stick.. not sure if there's a way to remove it without tearing it apart. Press and hold LOAD.. say changer is full... press and hold EJECT.. it reverts back to radio. did the diagnostic thing.. code "00" Last time it got "stuck" , the battery also went dead.. and when i changed that out.. it spits all the cds out effortlessly. Wanted to see what else i could do besides taking it back to dealer..
SAXON is there a button that force it to eject? like some players have?
thanks again.

Re: 2000 avalon xls 6cd changer stuck

Sorry I haven't responded earlier but since they've been updating this site, I can't seem to get to the threads.

As to your question, I'm told that if you hold the eject button for about 8 seconds it will go into a "forced" eject mode. I can't verify this, but you might try it.

I have the same problem - battery was dead (last summer - hot in the garage) after a 2 week trip, and after new battery installation, CD player does not work - same symptoms (flashing, will not load, will not eject). I tried the diagnostics, and got 00 only when I pressed the #1 preset button, but got D5 when I pressed the #2 preset button. Any more information on this? Thanks.
