Received Recall Notice for Fuel Pump Wiring Harness
I have a 2001 Yukon XL, 5.3. While the mechanic is installing this would you guys recommend changing out the fuel pump and installing new filters or anything else in the vicinity ? I haven't had any pump problems (yet). Is there a new & improved fuel pump ? While the mechanic has the tank down I'm thinking why not replace everything to save $$$$$$$ should this problem prone, fuel pump go out later.

Re: Received Recall Notice for Fuel Pump Wiring Harness
there is no new and improved fuel pump out by GM . if your yukon has a lot of miles it would be a good idea to replace the fuel pump but it is costly it is the whole module assy that must be replace. the fuel filter is on the fram rail under the drivers seat.

If they agree to charge you for parts only, you have got to replace the pump. If they dick you around with labor, walk......

What are we talking about for a fuel pump price? I have my recall notice and am considering the same.

About $220-300. Doesn't include sending unit.
