engine swap

I have a 2000 civic with the edelbrock turbo kit. I am not sure of the engine that it came with buy in my opinion the car is still gutless. I just bought it and had the intention when I bought it to do an engine swap with a v-tec engine of some sort. I don't mind buying a kit but would like everything to work nicely. What engine do you guys recommend the standard B18A. If so how much performance will I get.....

As far as the engine currently in your car it's most likely a d16y8. As for the swap into your car if you can afford it go with a K series (around 5500) for simplicity reasons I'd try to find a b16a2 (out of the 99-00 SIs). You just need to search, or at least tell us things like budget, power goals and whether or not you want to stay turbo or go with an NA motor.

I wuld like to reuse the turbo kit I have, I have email edelbrock to see what other engines the turbo kit works on, results etc. the b16 or 18 seem the easiest and most common. Budget depends on results. I would like 200+ hp So I was looking at the h22 h23 motors and moding the turbo to work with that hoping for arounf 250 hp...

If you do the b16 or 18 swap you should only need to get a manifold for the b series block, maybe some new oil lines and bigger injectors but that sholud be about it.

Re: engine swap

It really depends on your budget....if you don't want to spend a lot, then do a b18a/c swap, but if you want to get something a little better and less common, you could swap in a k20a2 and that comes w/ a 6spd......

Think about it, if you want to go w/ the K, pm me....

Re: engine swap

what ever you do, stay obd2 and your life will be easier. toss the t28 and go find a better turbo for your b series.
