What do I need for ram air????
I have a 98 trans am, i'm purchasing a ws6 ram air hood...i was wondering what else do i have to buy to make my car have ram air???
is it just a ram air box like the one in the link below(cause it kind of looks similar to my non ram air box(except the decal)) or is there more to it than just the hood and the box??? Thanks for ur help http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WS6-A...ayphotohosting

It is a lower airbox than the stock Trans Am.
Supposed to help the air flow into the intake better with the hood. Really....it isn't worth any power. There are ways to make it worth something though.

oh, and do u think i should go ahead and buy that air box..would it be worth the money..and if i do buy it (also the hood) I will have ram air?

It isn't actually 'Ram Air'
It is a very effective cold air induction though. Take a look....this helps air come in. You can see straight into the airbox. There are also little things to seal the hood and airbox together using weatherstripping. This requires drilling your hood....

I still have that lid. Can't decide if I should order a new one or just have this one painted.
Thinking I will just snad it down and paint it.

At a quick glance it looks like a booger on the left side where the screw for the screen goes....

The only time those screens are out is at the track. Doubt it makes a difference though....

ah, ok, yeah i took a look at my air box..i know how the air flows right underneath the filter now..
do u know where i could buy and how much for that kit to make it true ram air..and thanks for your help Mr. Luos

The really isn't such a thing as true 'Ram Air'
But...the kit that I knew of isn't made anymore. The guy that was making them was having some personal issues and had to stop making them. If you are willing to drill the hood....you can remove the baffles from it. Also....some weatherstripping from Home Depot can help seal the hood and airbox together keeping the air charge all fresh.
