Is it really worth putting a turbo on a 2.2 engine? It seems like way too much work with all the piping and intercooler and all that. What exactly goes into a custom turbo system?

Re: Turbo on 96 2.2???
A LOT of shit goes into a turbo project. A question if it is worth it is completely up to you. In my opinion if you have the money for a turbo kit for your 2.2, then you have the money for a 2.3 HO or 2.4 Z swap.. I would rather do those swaps then turbo a 2.2, but that is just me.

Re: Turbo on 96 2.2???
To turbo it you will need the turbo, manifold, downpipe, intercooler and pipes, BOV, oil and maybe coolant lines for the turbo, exhaust, intake, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, datalogging stuff, something to tune the car with, and if you plan on more than 5-7 psi you will need to build the internals. Turboing your car will cost lots and lots of money and you will maybe see like 150-160 hp and probably wont break 15's. Its really not worth it, if you really like Cavy's get a z24 or get a different car with a more potent engine.
