Cheap upgrades for a SOHC 90 DX hatchback

I got a 90 dx and I found out that I can use the same parts for my engine I am getting later. I mean the SOHC vtec is compatible with the parts i put on now. SO i was wondering what are things to do. And if I do the right things can my car be at least quicker for the time being.

Firts, take care of the little things on your car. Make sure your brakes are up tight as well as your suspension. I would then consider upgrading your exhaust. Step up in exhaust pipe diameter then go after a high flow CAT, and a nice muffler. After you take care of the motor swap you can start looking into Air intake, ignition and other tuning upgrades.

If you're after a quicker car NOW, do a complete tuneup, check the tire air pressure, oil change etc.

Won't have an earth shattering effect, but it will be smoother & you'll know that you're getting as much performance as you can out of the DX.
