Question Have CAI, whats next???

I've got a 2004 GP GTP CompG and I just recently bought a K&N air intake. I've got a good $1000 more to burn and I want a exhaust system. Any suggestions? I like Borla sound, but not borla price. Also, live in S. Arizona right now and I am wondering if a transmission cooler is worth it? Where do I put new supercharger oil at? I am looking for any and every upgrade that I could possibly get without voiding my factory warranty? Does anyone have tranny problems after installing a pulley? Pulley bros pulley any good?

To the best of my knowledge the '04 and up GPs do not have a u-bend in the exhaust system. On the '97 - '03, there is a u-bend after the CAT convertor which holds the rear 02 sensor. It causes exhaust restriction.

So a lot of us delete them with a minor mod.

Re: Have CAI, whats next???

are you happy with the k&n???

I'm thinking of picking one up in the next few weeks and want to have a general idea of what to expect...

Now I know its not going to be Honda-Ricer-stick power adder of a difference, but what can I expect???

yeah the 04s' DON'T have a U-bend by the way and I got a 2.5" cat back priced here for like $145 at a exhaust shop(that I trust), is that a good price??

Re: Have CAI, whats next???

there is not alot you can do to keep the warranty from being voided...no pulley, no new plugs. your car was designed to have a certain amount of HP and tourqe, any mods will increase this and put more strain an the engine and trans....I dont think exhaust will void your warranty. Problem is...if you do some mods such as CAI or exhaust which may be warrant friendly, when you bring your car in for warranty work they will notice that and probobly go looking for more mods...a factory warranty can be considered priceless....for now i would try to not void the warranty....maybe do some mods near the end of tha warranty....one thing you could do is put a smaller pully and cooler plugs when the car has to go in for warranty work change the pulley back to the stock pulley, and hope they dont find the new plugs....good luck

Re: Re: Have CAI, whats next???

Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)).

However, mods such as headers and SC pulleys could be cause to not honor warranty work. When in doubt check with your dealer or at least wait under the bumper to bumper warranty expires, if any.
