Please help...I am wanting to remove the middle console of my 04 cavalier...I have done searches on the net but only come up with removing the middle console with a manual shift. I am wanting to paint this and would like to remove it. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

Re: removing center console from 04 cavalier with automatic transmission
There should be a little U-clip in the shifter somewhere, prolly the front. Pup this out and them remove all the screws inside the console it self... piece of cake, there may also be some tension retainers, but i doubt it.

Re: removing center console from 04 cavalier with automatic transmission
There should be 4 or 5 10mm screws holding it in, one up in the coin tray infront o fthe shifter, one under the powerwindow swtich(or coin cubbie if you dont have PW, and 2 under the lid in the console compartment.
