2.8L serpentine belt diagram

I have a 2.8L engine w/o AC.

I am rebuilding it and lost the "before" picture I had taken and I do not have the sticker on the rad saddle. I have a Haines manual but it does not show the routing.

Does anyone have the diagram or a picture?

thanks ...

I copied a page out of the factory service manual and uploaded it to Web Shots. Its in a album with photo's I took while changing the hinge pin in my drivers door. Hope this helps.

Re: 2.8L serpentine belt diagram

I'm suprised that you have a serpentine system Dugie.
Mine is 1 year newer, and has 2 V-belts and 1 small serpentine type belt, layed out like a V-belt

But then again, I've got AC. That might be the difference

Re: 2.8L serpentine belt diagram

Well I understand that you'll gain a little more power. Probably better fuel ecomony as well

I would imagine that you changed the waterpump. A lot of people don't know that a surpentine system spins the water pump the other way.

Re: 2.8L serpentine belt diagram

I bought a new waterpump for an 87' motor. Hopefully it will work ... but thanks for the hint. I will find out if it is the right one when I fire the motor for the first time. I'll keep an eye on the water temp.

Re: 2.8L serpentine belt diagram

I think that they changed over to a serpentine system in 86, but I'm not positive.

So I believe that you should be fine.

It's a smart thing to watch all the gauges after all that work for a while anyways.
