95 Grand Am Flooding at Startup
Have a 95 grand am that floods like crazy what you try to start it. It's getting good fire and fuel, only starts if I hold it to the floor. I changed the map sensor, oxygen sensor, plugs, and air filter. Worked fine for 3 days then started to do the same thing again. Anyone know what the problem is?

No, I can start it cold by holding to the floor, warm it up and shut off. Then anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 have to repeat same steps.

Re: 95 Grand Am Flooding at Startup
What makes you think it is flooding, smell gas?, Chugs or runs rough after started? if so could be an injector leaking down or the fuel presuure regulator bad, this is going to require some professional equipment and experience to track this down. Lots of possibilities here.

Re: 95 Grand Am Flooding at Startup
Ok, thanks friend. I'll have to inspect the other items more closely. The reason I say it's flooding is gas smell and clouds of black smoke...lol It floods the plugs bigtime. It could be an injector seal, but I was told they were new so I didn't bother with them. As for fuel presure it holds good presure. Maybe it's just the fact I don't work on Pontiacs...lol I'm a Dodge Mechanic. Thanks for the Info.
