spare tire removal (the doughnut)

I want to know if I can easily remove the doughnut tire off of my spare rim and mount a standard tire on it. Is the rim suitable for a standard trire?

I can handle standard tires with simple tools.

I thank you very much.

Re: spare tire removal (the doughnut)

no, that spare is only designed to mount a donut sized tire.

Re: spare tire removal (the doughnut)

Too add some detail:

The wheels for donut spares are made with thinner metal, so they don't have the durability of regular wheels. Plus the donuts are usually narrow, and so are the wheels - generally too narrow for regulat tires.

CapriRacer, thank you for the useful information. I will go look for a spare rim.

Thanks again, JA2234
