Angry First sign of rust.....

Washed the car last night and noticed there was a little rough spot towards the bottom of my right rear quarter panel. right in front of the wheel. So i looked a little closer and it was a freakin rust bubble. I guess i'm still doin pretty good for a 12 year old car though. When I paint it this summer I guess I'll just have to sand it down and fill it in if it's necessary. sorry for the post I'm just venting anger I guess, stupid iron oxide.

I'm not trying to be a dick here but the rust on the rear quarter panel often comes from the inside. My old DX had rust holes on the right rear quarter panel and just a little spot on the left side. When I sold that car I saw that the garage was putting in new panel because that what looked like just a little surface rust was actually the rust that started from the inside that was coming through.

I don't want to scare you or anything, might be just surface rust rust in your case but keep an eye on it, rust moves fast in that area..

Thats the same exact spot where every Honda rusts. Its not one of their brightest ideas, but if you look up under your wheel well where the rust is coming through, you will find this like sponge type material. That holds the water and dirt that drains from the back window. Add to that those little black rubber strips and it traps everything.

Get it taken care of before it gets like mine.....both sides, roughly same spot yours is....$900 bucks to get it fixed correctly (cut & weld) and the paint blended in...

bracer is right..it rusts from the inside out...my car has cancer..the rear fenderwells...hondas are famous for that....the only true way to stop it is to cut and weld in a new piece...if you do that...be generous on the area you cut out cause you only want to do it once!

Same here... right rear fender. Very little on the outside but it looks pretty bad inside the wheel well.

Yeah it's coming from the inside, I established that, I guess I'll just fix the whole panel when I paint it this summer.
