Hesitation when accelerating, rough idle too

Hi, I'm looking forward to your answers.

I have an '88 Pontiac Bonneville. Whenever I hit the accelerator, the car kind of jerks and hesitates before picking up speed. If I am waiting at a stop light, the car shakes a little bit. It is driving me nuts.

My last tune up was about 10 months ago. I had new spark plugs put on. I also put a new air filter on recently.

Any ideas what might be the problem?

Thanks.

Air filter replaced 1 month ago. Fuel filter, pcv and plug wires replaced maybe 7 years ago.

Is it a big job to replace those? Can I do it myself or do I need a shop to do it?
