Wont Start? New head, carb, ect.

Ok well heres the problem. I replaced the headgasket on my b2200 pickup. New head also because the old head was cracked. I set timing and had everything up to spec according to haynes manual. I go to start it for frist time and it wouldnt start the first turnovers but finally got going. Thing is, when it starts, it rev's like crazy all the way to about 5,000 rpm's and just shuts off? I was told it was the carb so i bought a new rebuilt carb, replaced it and it still does the same? Whats wrong? Can someone PleaSe Help ME!

Got it to start!

I found out that the intake manifold was cracked, so i replaced it. It now starts up fine, the thing now, is that the engine is shaking vigorously, i mean badly at idle. When you hit the gas the shaking starts to stop. Another thing is, when you drive, passed 3rpm it just stops?!? The car seems like it doesnt want to go anywhere anymore. It starts to buck and the exhaust has loud puffs coming out. Its like tatatatatata. Weird. Wat could be wrong?

It sounds to me like its really out of time. Make sure everything is lined up including the distributor make sure its just right after number one cylinder.
