Auto 4WD not releasing

Recently purchased used 03 tahoe Z71. When in auto 4wd on wet and dry roads, front end jumps as if I was in traditional 4wd when turning. Problem only happens about half the time. Suspect computer is keeping front end fully engaged at all times when this happens. Also hear rubbing noise as this happens almost like tire rubbing, but it's not the tires since in 2wd it doesn't happen. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Auto 4WD not releasing

There is a tsb for this, either a reprogram and/or encoder repalcement in the transfer case.

Thank you very much. Kinda surprised I couldn't find any other posts on same subject if a TSB exists. I'm taking it in this week to have it programmed. Thanks again
