BMW 316ti
I have just purchased my first BMW and love the car, but now after only 3 months buy the way the car is a 2001 (51), and things started to go wrong, to cut a long story short it appears that the wires that run from the tail gate into the main body have become damaged where the tail gate goes up and down it has rubbed the coating off the wires and left the car a dangerous condition, a fire just waiting to happen said the BMW guy when I took it to the shop for repair. What I would like to know is, has any one out there had the same problem, is this a problem that BMW should be sorting out, plz let me know.

Re: BMW 316ti
Although rare, this is a known issue with the E36 3 series ('92-'99). Even more rare in your case, since yours is a 2001. In fact, the dealership should not charge you anything for repairs. If they do, I would raise a big stink about it.
