Traction Control

I have a 97 PA and I have recently noticed that I can no longer turn the traction control on/off from the button on the shifter. It seems to have happened all of a sudden. Is there a way for me to test it to see if it is active or inactive. When I start the car, the light lights up so i dont think its a bulb or anything. Any idea will be greatly appriciated

Re: Traction Control

One way to test would be to try to get the wheels to spin... On a wet street or a dirt road punch the car out and try to get the wheels to spin. You should notice the car slowing down a little and the trac light should come on

Ok...I spun my tires in a grass lot and indeed the traction control system is active. I am wondering if this could be a faulty button on the shifter of if there is some other cause.
