3-4 minute delay for wiper, indicator start

Hi,
Passat TDI, 2000, 1.8 deisel, comfortline, when I start the car there is a 3 to 4 minute delay before the Indicator, Wipers and air conditionar will work, everything else seems to work o.k. Also when I switch off the car and remove keys the rear window demister and wipers remain on.

Is there some delay circuit to stop everything starting at once??

I don't know of it as a common problem for the '00, but it sounds like the electrical portion of the "ignition" switch is bad. Try jiggling & slightly turning the key in the switch to see if things start working properly.
