mm, ok..
my babe is an 4.3L 2wd blablabla..1990 so i tried to know what was the reaction of my truck with different spark plugs.. i usually use the autolite #25 platinum.. and run like a puppy! ![]() but with the new spark plugs.. autolite #26.. the sound is different.. with this runs rough.. very rough...and smells more gas.. tomorrow i'll change this horrible things.. who had the same problem?? this is just to let you guys know.. I debated between these two heat ranges for my engine . Did alot of research . The 4.3 uses these two in many of the autos and van . You may have the hotter plug in when you dont need it and you are are getting preignition/detonation . And the knock sensor is retarding the ignition to counteract it causing incomplete burning of fuel , that you smell. I would go back to the original number , I did. Rob

Go Oem AC-delco spark plugs and use what plug no and gap the book calls for on it and your problems will be over with.
OEM parts only hurts one time. The other stuff may hurt many times. Auto lite does not always get the heat range match to your truck and engine that it needs. It is a sometimes they do and sometimes they do not deal. MT-2500 |
