sub and amp help...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On, heres the deal...my system sounds great...thumps hard and is very clear... I want more though and Im wondering if anyone can help me rewire or bridge amp or SOMETHING to get as much power as I can out of the amp and get as much bump out of the sub... I have a Sony X-plode MOBILE ES class D model number: XM-6001GXD 1000 watt mono-amp. Im running a AUDIOBAHN AW1200Q 12" 700 watts RMS. info on sub is: 700 Watts RMS 120oz. Magnet Sold Individually Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coils 2" Phat Foam Surround Huge Double Stacked Magnets Non-Pressed Non-Transfer Paper Cone KM3 Coating For No Distortion 2/8 Ohm operation info on amp is: MOSFET power supply and output stage Class D circuitry 300 watts x 1 at 4 ohms 600 watts x 1 at 2 ohms 1-ohm stable 50-300 Hz low-pass filter, 18 dB/octave 0-10 dB bass boost at 40 Hz 0°-180° Phase Shift Adjustment speaker-level inputs gold-plated connectors 4-way protection circuitry 14-1/8"W x 2"H x 10-1/2"D Can someone help me out please. Someone educated on this subject...I hear there are many engineers in this forum...help me out |

The best you can do is wire the sub's voice coil in parallel.
Wire it like this: [img]http://mobile.jlaudio.com/graphics/Support/Tutorials/wiring_images/DVC_Parallel_1.gif[b] Honestly, if you want more output/sound quality, go with another sub. That audiobahn isn't exactly a gem at doing what a subwoofer should be doing.
