8.8 or 9.25
I am looking for a rear axle. Got 2 in mind...
Ford 8.8" from a 1995+ Explorer - Because it has rear disc brakes, and is slightly better then a D44. Fits perfectly into my rig, 59.5" to my 60.75" stock length. Chrysler 9.25" - Because it better then a Ford 8.8, but has drum brakes. What is the length of this axle? However I kind of want a Full-Floating Axle, because they are way better over all. And if you break a shaft, you can still drive the rig. Do they sell FF kits for either of these axles, or do I have to hit the junk yards and look for one. I know they sell drum-to-disc conversion kits. Does anyone have any web sites they know about. It would help greatly. |
