installed new fuel pump, now runs rough
I installed a new fuel pump bec the old one was shot. now that the new pump is installed it runs very rough barely at all. The fuel filter seems to be clear. gas flow before and after the filter. i think there is only 1 filter but maybe more? also i blead the air out of the fuel rail at the bleeder. the engine will idol nice after a min but if u try to rev it up it seems to want to just cut out/ bog out. There wasnt a problem before the fuel filter died out. if there is anyting u can think of that would be great. thanks

Re: installed new fuel pump, now runs rough
I don't know anything about Saturn's fuel systems, but isn't there a pressure check valve on the return line. You might try closing off the return line to see what happens.

Re: installed new fuel pump, now runs rough
Fuel filter 'seems' to be clear? You should always replace the filter when doing a fuel pump replacement. Disconnect the fuel rail and check the quantity of fuel too. See the specs for the amount per minute. Also there are lotsa o-rings that can get stuck in a fuel pump when being replaced. Be care ful of leaking the fuel when doing a quant. check. Have a fire extinguisher handy.

I agree with Stevestar as the check valve maybe malfunctioning, also that test will tell you if the regulater is working.
