Lightbulb turbo sizing

whats good all my Honda-heads.

i'm tryin to do a custom turbo for my car and was hoping i could get some advice from some current turbo owners or people that know a decent amount about turbos.

i have a 2.5 L block and was wondering what size turbo i should go. i know that most likely i'll be using a t3/t4 hybird (possibly t3/t04e), but i'm not sure what other numbers i should look at [i.e. actual specs like the a/r numbers for the turbine and compressor]. i'm pretty much looking for a turbo that'll start spooling by about 2-2.5k RPM and will not run out of breathe at least untill around 6.5-7k RPM.

i'm only looking to run about 8, maybe 10 psi MAX on this block and when i get the japanese motor, i'll be looking to build it to run a MAX of 25 psi.

so pretty much, i dont want to have to buy 2 turbos. i want to find one that'll suite my needs for now and for later.

thanks for ur help

Re: turbo sizing

Look into ball bearing turbos. If you want to spool by 2.5k rpm you'll have to go with a tiny turbo unless you get a ball bearing one.

Re: turbo sizing

PSI doesn't have any sort of relevant meaning......

You should read up on the subject so that you'll have a better idea of what you're talking about.....

Re: turbo sizing

It'd help if you said what engine you have (or even car) so people could look up some specs (especially compression ratio of the engine); to better help you. If you don't want to give out info, then you're just going to get a half assed answer for giving half assed info. That kind of info is relevant to your question, that's why it was asked.

Re: turbo sizing

turbo sizing on a 2.5 what? motor is? compression is?

you are correct................2.5L has no meaning. its meaning on different honda engines is limited. thats why the question is asked.

no one is busting your balls here. if you dont know or understand the importance of what base engine you are working with to begin with, besides just providing a "2.5L engine" as info, then, reread the above link. it will help you understand some info.

ex. im boosting 10lbs on a sc34 on a 2.0 b18c vs im boosting same thing on a 1.8 b18c. do you see what the difference is yet? if not, reread the link and do a search.
