I think they have so many names for a year, then if they run out, then they go to the greek alphabet. I don't know why, but I guess that's the way it is.

shouldn't they start with Alpha? i always like to find thing wrong with systems. like why don't "they", whoever THEY are, start with like Abraham and do ALL of the A names then go to the B's. i'm pretty sure they wouldn't run out the.

i believe they set aside either 20 or 21 names per season, alternating between boy and girl for each storm. once they run through the assigned names, they do go into the greek alphabet.
