Unhappy Acura Code

Can somebody PLEASE help me get a code for my 93 legend cd player. I changed the battery and now my radio, cd, or dvd wont work. It says E01 (whatever that means). I was told I needed to go to the dealer to get a code. Is there a generic code? I dont want to have to pay the dealer a$100 for a new one.

Re: Acura Code

code is free from honda here at riverside, moreno valley, norm reeves, and speen. the only way your going to get a code is from honda or acura.

codes

each radio has its own code the dealer sill need the radio serial number it will be located on the radio its self, they will give it to you over the phone in most cases just ask for the parts room and they can look it up on the computer for you. you only have 3 tries to get it right the the radio will lock up so to speak, the simplest way to free it up again is to just take the battery cables off then hold them togather (battery disconnected) this will drain the compacitors in the radio quicker it takes just a minute or 2 then hook the battery up and put your code in

Ok I have the code, but it only works for the radio. My cd player still does not work. Does this mean that it needs servicing?

Re: Acura Code

did you remove the radio yourself? is the cd player plugged up? it plugs into the back of the radio? if you didnt remove it yourself i would take it to whom ever did and get tem to check that? assuming it worked before.

Re: Acura Code

tech...thanks for your help, it worked exactly as you said. I took cables off...connected together with a metal wrench for an hour or so during oil change and maint. work. Reinstalled and the ERROR03 code came back to just an ERROR code, put in the code numbers (called previous owner for them) and IT WORKED! I got my tunes back now. I had made the mistake earlier of putting in too many code #'s and it locked up into an ERROR03 code.
