Lift 2001 JGC-V8 up

Looking to lift it up a bit and get some bigger tires so that I sit up higher. 5 inches would be nice. I have 17-inch rims now. So I was told I can put some "blocks" in there but have to replace the shocks casue they won't "reach". The blocks would give me 2.5 inches and the bigger tires would maybe give me 1.5 inches totalling 4 inches. Your thoughts on this. Is this the best way to go? Other options?

Hey, you should check out www.rustysoffroad.com they specialize in jeep stuff and I believe they have a 2" lift for the grand cherokee.

I'm new here to the forum. What is BB? I don't know much about "big" trucks either but I was a auto mechanic for 3 years 18 years ago. This is the first "truck" that I have owned.

BB is just a term they use it stands for budget blocks, it's a cheap way of gaining height. You have probably heard of lift blocks or something similar, that's all they are.

Can you tell me a little about BBs? How do they work. Blocks in the springs? How could that give me 6 inches if they are 2 inches. You can put up to 3 of them in each spring. Just guessing here...

The blocks are 2 inches, you can combine them with the four inch teraflex lift for a total of six inches, but you have to worry about a lot of stuff with that much of a lift. Here's a site with the different lifts etc. http://www.trailquest.com/teraflex/teraflexwj.shtml Here's a link for the BB's http://www.trailquest.com/teraflex/wj/WJ_BB.shtml
