you realize that if you install any other exhaust than the one subaru offers, you will void your warranty, right? subaru is *anal* about aftermarket stuff for the wrx. thats why i didn't buy one.

you couldnt be further from the truth...

it is impossible to "void" your warranty. legally u have the right to modify your car in any way u see fit. however if a modification directly causes a failure, it will not be covered under warranty. so if an aftermarket air intake causes too much dirt to be sucked in and messes something up, its not covered.

i have an aftermarket intake, exhaust, plenty of electronics, and a couple appearance mods. the dealer also knows i race my car a lot. but when my car went in for work, there was no problem with getting the warranty covered. they asked exactly what mods i had, i told them, they said "thats fine, the warranty will still cover it"

"subaru" isnt the one who determines whether your car is covered under warranty or not. its the dealership. some dealerships, as you say, are "anal" but some arent. however it is illegal for them to completely void your warranty because of a mod.

Quite true Idelaysionl, a friend of mine even got his dealership to put his new exhaust on when he went in to get a new clutch

As for what exhaust, do you want the dual tip or single tip look? If you want double M2 makes a really nice sounding and low profile dual tip, as does MRT. Both of them make single tip aswell. I like Apex'i and Blitz for single tips though.

well, the only subaru dealership where i am from (edmonton, ab, canada) told me if they noticed anything aftermarket on my car at all (ie while it was being serviced) then my warranty on my engine was VOID. not if and when something happened, but straight out void. maybe subaru canada has different policies than subaru in the states.

I think it does depend on the dealer because we have a Subaru dealer here in Tampa,FL that even has a Subaru performance shop in the dealership.

One of ours has a Subaru performance catalog in the lobby

I wonder if the one in Canada would void your warrenty if you came in with the exact same BBSs that are options but you didn't buy them from Subaru...

Yep the people are right as metioned above.

The only way you can get your warranty void is if you take it out another country.

So mod away, dont let those pesky dealers (if applicable) stop you from modding
