well to start the ls1 is a new style motor, made all out of alummin. And with ram air stock has 320 hp. And for exhaust i like for a cheep one that sounds good is flowmaster. But if you have deep pockets i would get borla. Well depends on the 3000 gt. is it a vr4? wich has twin turbo. and pumps out 320hp. But you car does that stock with ram air. So you can take him if he does not have any other mods.

Re: new to this firebird thing

The LS1 makes the same power in any car. About 310 RWHP.
The Ram Air doesn't make much difference at all.

Flowmasters SUCK!
They don't flow well, and sound no better than any other exhaust.
Even if I had the money, I would still get the Magnaflow catback.
Although I am not really sure what kinda differences the earlier 4th gen style has over the later stock LS1 cars. Catback wise, you may need an LT1 catback. Not sure on that.

Non-turbo 3000GT would get murdered by an LS1 car. Turbo stock 3000GT would also get beat, but not nearly as badly.

Re: new to this firebird thing

You could buy a blower.
LS1 blowers run around $5000.

Cheap mods...air in and out. Intake, exhaust.
Problem is, I am not sure which parts you need to buy. The LS1 was never offered in your car from the factory. Some things changed from your car to the LS1 cars.
