Why can't I get these bolts started???

I'm finishing up with my coolant leak job (see below). I'm to the point where I'm putting the upper intake back on, but I can't get the longest of the manifold bolts started. They are down in the threaded portion, but they are not grabbing. Are these one time use bolts? Thanks. It sucks to be stopped here when it was going back together much faster than it came apart!

loosen your lower intake bolts install the bolts that hold the upper intake (plenum) dont run them down with a wrench just start them in the holes then torque the lower intake bolts remove the upper intake bolts place upper intake in place and install bolts

Nevermind. I didn't have things lined up right. Now I need a new gasket...

Thanks 2eye. Just noticed that you got in with the right answer. Did you see my post about the coolant leak? Did you have this problem?

I have done this repair many times those stupid o-rings will always leak if you have to replace your valve cover gaskets so if you do the v/c gaskets also replace those o-rings sometimes they just start leaking they dry out get brittle and crackl

When I took the upper intake back off, the gasket ripped. The new one will be here today.
