Replacing my 1500 with 2500 DMAX

Hey guys,

I am replacing my 1500 crew with a crew dmax w/ LBZ engine. Im selling off 20's and Toyo's from my 1500. anyone interested PM me, im looking at all offers.

Secondly, my 1500 has the power folding mirrors (which I love for parking along the road or in tight spaces and going through the car wash). Seems most of the 06 2500's havet the Ford style big mirrors, which are not power folding. I know that you can get the reg mirrror, but can they be swaped out. Are they wired up from the factory to just change em.

Lastly, Im going to build this pickup big. I have senn of GM fullzize.com. There are a few guys there that swear by Congnito lift kits. Have any of you heard of them, and how good are they.

Re: Replacing my 1500 with 2500 DMAX

Don't know man, I pretty much build my own lifts. Might buy one for my 04 though. My b2 I am still working on is on www.cardomain.com/id/bigfry. It doesn't look quite like it does on there, theres now a milemarker winch on front and 1/3 of my exo cage has been completed. But I know I see alot of chevys around here with superlift. Not sure of the durability though. Good luck.

Re: Replacing my 1500 with 2500 DMAX

Diesel is a $1.20 a gallon more than gasoline. And you will get the same mileage as a 1/2 gasser. Unless you use the diesel like it was designed--hauling HEAVY loads then it does not pay to buy one. I sold my 04 LLY when diesel went to 30 cents above gas, when I bought it it was 30 cents less than gas. Very fun truck though, more power than you can ever imagine--get the edge juice! Just don't be suprised when you see 17-18 mpg, that is what they get in real life!

Re: Re: Replacing my 1500 with 2500 DMAX

Thanks for the advice. The main reason that Im getting the Dmax is Im buying a 32 foot travel trailer. Up here in the WA state diesel is out of control Reg unleaded goes for 2.82 with .10 increments for 89 and 92. Diesel is running 3.20-3.40. Also with the amount I drive. I want an engine that will last longer. I already have 40,000+ miles on my 04. I drive to Texas and back twice a year and will start adding a trip to Alaska once a year.

Re: Replacing my 1500 with 2500 DMAX

I remember reading about those headlights a few months ago. Shortly after this truck appeared in the forums. I can't remember or not if I posted about them or not. They are pretty cool headlights if your willing to shell out about $400 bones if I remember correctly.

Only 1 thing wrong with a Duramax......
It's not a Cummins!
Sorry, I have an '04 3500 Cummins 4x4, and I guess I'm a bit partial!
