After Rear Main Seal - Car won't move in gear

'93 Talon w/ auto transaxle

Well, I got the rear main seal replaced, and the beater runs and holds it's oil. But, when I out it in gear... nothing. I was careful to make sure to seat the converter back in before installing the tranny back in place. Could it be something electrical?

When I refilled the tranny with the recommended 3 quarts, it's no way overfilled. I'm gonna drain it back down to the proper cold level. Definately hope I don't have to drop it back out again.

With the key in the ON position, and I shift into Drive I can hear a little noise coming from the tranny. Almost like a little motor or something clicking.

The little clicking sound I hear in the tranny happens like this:

When I shift into Reverse - The noise happens for about 3 seconds and quits.

When I shift into Drive - The noise happens for about 3 seconds and stops. Then about two seconds later it starts again and continues non-stop.

I reversed the two larger electrical connectors around and the noise doesn't happen at all.

This is why I think it may be an electrical issue.

Any suggestions?

Got a few ideas today from local tranny shops to check out. One place said to check the fluid level with the car off. Then note where the level was while running. The level should drop down some. Well, mine didn't, which I'm hearing means the pump is shot. Not something I wanted to find out.

Are you beating yourself up over buying the beater yet? Yeah just do as EDMUND65 said and try a junk yard. GL

A little. Should have tried a gear when I ran it before buying. Yeah, I can get one from a U-Pull-It place down south for $70. Just wanting to make sure this one is shot. Wouldn't want it to be something small and stupid, and I go through the hassle of pulling the thing back out when I didn't need to.
