ahh Crash.

Why do people love this movie? I've spent many frustrating weeks on IMDB explaning the pure crappyness of this film, but no one listens.

has anyone else seen it? (if you haven't yet, don't )

Re: ahh Crash.

Mind elaborating on the 'crappyness' of the film?

I thought it was great.

anyone good in it?

It has quite the extensive cast. Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Sandra Bullock, Brendan Frasier, Ludacris to name a few.

Its good, there's just a little too much "crazy chance" involved. I thought it was like Magnolia.

I saw Crash a few days ago. It held my attention throughout the whole movie which is hard to do. It was a little cheesy but still very entertaining.

this movie took extremely unlikely situations, exagerrated them with name-calling, multiplied it with racism, and then tried to pass it off as day-to-day reality..... All while simultaneously holding these situations under a cutesy everything works out in the end, love conquers all, hollywood sells, dream world. Not to mention every single character living on the EDGE of their sanity.

it tries to make a point, but collapses in onto itself. It tries to have a story, but instead drags from situation to situation.

Paul Haggis knows how to make something sell. He knows how to make people feel empowered... it's like eating a tasty burger from Wendy's, then believing it also makes you healthy.

Are you familiar with the film term 'exaggeration to effect'?

Where in the movie did it say 'this is not a movie, this is reality' ?

Yeah.. having one's estranged brother killed because of a misunderstanding is really a cutesy hollywood ending

I'm not even going to bother continuing with the rest of your 'arguement' because I'm not really sure what you're trying to say.

except I am aware of these issues, and that's the subject the movie is supposed to be dealing with. But all at once and then some, this movie is beyond exaggeration to effect. To a point of absolute goofyness.

Ludacris driving a bloodied van, releasing a cage full of prisoners on a busy street.. pulling some chains out of the way... big smile on his face.. how could this not crack you up. Not to mention Ludacris makes a living by singing about money and bitches.

The whole little girl who is bulletproof story. Just one thing after the next. By the end, where its snowing on the burning car, it was please just gimmy a break.

I read the paper and feel sorry for people's misfortune. I volunteer my time when help is needed. While this movie cashes in X100. Just as the very similar movie Million Dollar Baby did.

Except for the fact that it's not Ludacris in the movie, it's a character in the movie. Actors do not equal characters.

I fail to see how that's 'absolute goofyness'. They were blanks in the gun. She's not bulletproof.

you need to read on to the next quote.. you said it was just a movie, but next you said they were all common situations. Plus if the movie is trying to make a point about controversial issues, then it's meant to be compared to reality.

When "The Rock" or "Roddy Roddy Piper" play a part in an action movie, I'll admit they're entertaining. Having a fucking goofball like Ludacris playing a part a movie like this... is like having Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Notebook.

Not to mention how impossible it is to take Brendan Fraser seriously. Ryan Phillipe, an actor who is useless and annoying. Don Cheadle, a great actor, did the same thing as usual.

thanks, >>insert captain obvious pic here<<
I loved how later in the movie it zoomed in on the box of bullets. A moment of pure understanding it twas.

I didn't like this movie and still haven't seen any reasons why it should be appreciated.

I'm still trying to understand why you consider it 'goofy'. I thought the whole story was pretty touching.

I agree however, that Crash is overrated. Way overrated. And I never use that term. But it's a pretty solid movie, with some poor casting decisions.

I can only be so compassionate with my television set. Half way through the movie the caring part of me turned to frustration, and finally broke free with laughter. Not to mention every other scene was trying to be a climax.

and I still don't believe people liked Garden State.
