Re: 92 s-10 performance

headers, new flowmaster exhaust, cool air intake, throttlebody spacer plate. good tune up, timming. a 2.5 really isnt a get up and go motor. not tring to knock your truck. with it being a 92 a good overhaul wouldnt be out of the ?.

Re: 92 s-10 performance

The 2.5L is one of Chevy's better motors. Although like you said a little underpowered. What JA sugested is about all that you can reasonably do.

Re: 92 s-10 performance

I have a question, Does anyone have any Reliable dyno sheets showing a benefit from a Throttle body spacer?

A mechanical engineer explained it to my why they don't (therotically) work, but I forgot, and would like some evidence if they actually do work.

Not bashing anyone who has one, but I want some hard proof, not the ass o' meter. If you think it will help, you will perceive that it will...Self fufilling prophecy thing.

Thanks

-Ryan

Re: 92 s-10 performance

I've heard that they have done dyno tests with spacers on and they do increase power.

However there are so many ways to cheat dyno tests, like run a dirty air filter and then remove it.

I will be trying 1 on my carburated 2,8L soon, but that's partly becuse I have a nice little wood work shop to make my own in

Re: 92 s-10 performance

I don't go by seat of the pants, and I'm not doing a dyno run.

I'm hoping on better fuel mileage, and I'll show those results as soon as I can.

Although I won't complain if I appear to get more power

Re: 92 s-10 performance

spacers theroreticly work because they raise the intake depth, air suposedly goes faster into the intake chamber to help atomize gas and air together, but the vechical can only suck as fast as vaccume is applied, if anything adding volume is going to lower your InM value and you will lose a little in power
