1992 Taurus

My 1992 Taurus has less than 95,000 miles, problem: when I'm driving along the car loses power, I tap the gas a few times and it goes again. We have changed the fuel filter and still it does this. The engine does not rev. The car has never died from this but does slow down alot and a few times has come to a complete stop......... Please Please someone tell me something.

Re: 1992 Taurus

I Have the exact same problem with my 1992 Taurus which has about 103,000 miles on it. But with my Taurus this problem only occurs when I start the car. I will start the car then after about 3 seconds the engine idle will slowly drop then shut off. If I try to start the car again though it starts fine.
