89 auto trans rebuild... How to make it better?

I am putting a rebuilt engine in and also plan to have the automatic rebuilt by a local 'reputable shop'. I have asked them what 'better' parts or mods can be installed to make the transmission 'last longer'.

They said they use 'transgo' kits & would also replace the solenoids.

Any comments on seals, parts, kits, etc. that I could request to be used in the rebuild?

- cooler. I would require closing valve for it for winter (depends location)
- I'd find used with low miles. Hope u have good references from this shop quality...
