I need help I just replaced the alternator on my 91 jeep cherokee sport and I am still ahving a problem holding a charge, can anyone tell me where the voltage regulator is or what might be the problem?

im quite sure the voltage regulator is built into the alternator, your battery could be bad or something is putting a constant drain on the battery. Do you have a volt meter? What is it charging at now?

in 1991, Jeep finally conformed to Chrysler electronics, so therefore your voltage regulator is housed inside of the PCM, or engine computer. If it's bad, you'll have to replace the PCM.

check all your ground connections. How are the battery terminals?
