Question 01 Lumina sedan keyless question...

I need help! I have had my 01 Lumina sedan for about a year now. It has power locks and no keyless, so I thought. When I first got it, I tried to install an aftermarket keyless setup. It was OK untill the remotes died. I can't get replacements. The other day I got a flat tire and went for the spare. There amongst the spare were 2 brand new remotes, never opened. They both work but the lights don't flash and the horn doesn't honk when locking or unlocking. How can I get the lights to flash? I tried a search and found the question asked multiple times but no answer. I already know how to add remotes etc. Thanks in advance for any help!!

If you have that stereo with the info display (can't remember what it's called) you can change the security and power lock options through it. The owner's manual has a supplement that tells the procedure.
